Barni Abdi was decanted in the Mayworld cloning facility in standard year 2241 as an infant and raised by the Rouche Corporation after a landmark legal battle over a corporation's capability of guardianship of a female minor. (Corporations had been able to maintain ownership of males since 2138.)

Barni has been the face of the E.S.L. since its founding in 2264 and hosts all league bouts which generally number two hundred each season.  She is one of the most sought-after celebrities for events and broadcasts in human occupied space.
