Jim Avery self identifies as a writer currently living in Central Florida with the ghost of his second wife.

When not writing or crossing the country on a motorcycle named "The Trepidation", he engages in a battle of wits with a family of bears who have no sense of privately owned property (obviously communists), free range armadillos and a flock of delinquent buzzards.
