Most subjects developed severe abnormalities and required termination. The first fully successful test subject was TS#2007052534, Maria Borg. Two genetic modifications were performed on Borg aboard the orbital platform. A third was performed at the Homestead facility. By the time the fourth augmentation was performed the Homestead facilities had been moved to Merritt Island which was fully staffed by humans. The human research supervisor needed to be mind-folded to have the procedure performed without the director’s knowledge.

Dunbar resigned in April after finding he was no longer physically capable of completing his term. He was succeeded by his vice president, Brook Keefe.
Enceladites: Single cell animals found living under ice in the liquid oceans of Saturn's moon Enceladus. They are absorbed quickly through the skin and bind to human DNA spreading through any nanites present. One year later, Mosher was killed by a sniper while walking alongside side motorcade in New York City. Once dead, Mosher reverted to his reptilian form revealing himself to have been a Draconian. The country began a lizard hunt suspecting every national leader of being an alien which lead to the collapse of the nation.

It worked closely with Truman and Eisenhower, was hostile towards Kennedy, indifferent towards Johnson and friendly toward Nixon.
After the fall of the United States along with most other nations, MJ12 moved its leadership to Barrett Base. It salvaged the (formerly American) OGA making it the organization's enforcement arm.

Human capability was measured on twelve points using a scale of one to five: Intelligence, Initiative, Cognitive, Perception, Precognition, Strength, Endurance, Speed, Agility, Recovery, Charisma, and Pheromonal. Each base point was double the preceding integral value (i.e.: five was double four, four was double three, ect.). The base human value was 1.0. The highest possible score with genetic augmentation was 5.0. With the beginning of F.S.I., the top value was increased to 10.0. The Poe Scale was abandoned in 2027 as the values received after the spread of the DNV rendered it inaccurate and it was called into question if the valuations had ever been a true reflection of an individual's capabilities.
