Angelo and his sister grew up in a working class family on "Quality Hill" in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  Their mother had hoped that Angelo would aspire for the priesthood, but he followed a group of friends to Atlantic City where one of them "knew a guy who knew a guy" and Angelo fell in with foot soldiers of the Eatoni crime family.

Angelo would eventually become a lieutenant in the family.  After the death of his wife, Angelo slowly withdrew into a comatose state.  He awakened a few days after the sudden disappearance of his daughter, and discovered his organization had supplanted the Eatoni's.
