Areum's parents emigrated to the United States from Busan, South Korea just before her birth. Despite her high charismatic score, she was never outgoing.
When Bambina DeMarco needed a trained geneticist familiar with the methods used at the Hoagland Institute, she sent Oaklyn to kidnap Park. During her time being forced to work for DeMarco, Park was physically and mentally abused by Oaklyn. After DeMarco was killed, Park was sent to the orbital platform where she was forced to work for Jessica Hylton and Jenny MacElroy where she continued to be abused by the Nephilim guards.
Park was rescued by Teresa Kwan and Kristyn Webb in 2025. She returned to work at the Hoagland Institute but found it nearly impossible to work with others.
