Ben Carnahan was chief softlines buyer for Barnes Discount Department Stores, a retail chain operating in New England, New York and Pennsylvania.  Ben and his wife, Janine, went to Orlando, Florida in 2025 so that he could meet with Kristyn Webb and negotiate her role as spokesperson for a line of active wear at Barnes.  Janine became infected with the DeMarco Nanite Virus.  Ben caught the virus from her and the nanites he received were tuned to hers.  When she left, he fell into a deep despondency.  He did not return to work.  He did not return home.  Ben wandered central Florida until he passed away on a cot in a homeless shelter in Sanford early the next year.
