Gina completed all of her education at home as the German school system found that by the time DNV lockdowns had ended, there were too few children being born to reopen schools. She passed the Zeugnis der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife with a full 15 points for an Arbitur score of 1 which would have granted her full tuition at any European University. Due to her family's financial situation, she instead found herself working at the docks of Hamburg at age sixteen and sending most of what little she earned home to her parents.
Unable to receive steady hours from her employer, H.M.C., in 2037 she accepted an offer to emigrant to Boston in the New American Union and work at H.M.C.'s home port. She was still unable to be given enough shifts to support her parents in Germany so when the Sisterhood of the Akashic Zen hired H.M.C. for passage for their order to the newly approved colony on Mars, Gina requested to be assigned as company liaison accompanying the group for full time pay. She found herself waiting in a microgravity depot at Lagrange Point 4 four ten months before departure and when she finally arrived at Mars, she was left stranded and unable to access her promised pay held by a Boston payroll clerk.
Gina found work at MarsPort at the time when H2 was selling its operational concessions to Naomi George. When H2 rebranded as Amore Foods, Gina was offered the role of greenhouse foreman at a substantial increase in pay. Her role at Amore Foods was greatly expanded as she took up residence with two of the owners, Lori Majury and Katie de Wit. She became a voting board member of the corporation after a short time.
When Amore Foods was acquired by the Rouche Corporation, Gina received a large payout and moved to Mayworld with the other departing board members. After the Rouche Corporation's financial collapse, Gina was able to purchase a small share of the reorganized company through the bankruptcy courts.
