Heidi MacNivern grew up in Odenton, Maryland where the O.G.A. was headquartered. Her parents both worked in Support and Planning for the Memory Redirection Department and her younger sister Beth became a field agent.
After graduating Heidi continued her research in a private lab funded by the O.G.A. until her homing beacon was activated sending her to Florida. Heidi had just married George Conklin who sold suits in a Conrad's Department Store. Heidi's husband was hired by the Hoagland Institute when the couple relocated to Florida and assigned to the human resource department.
In 2032, Heidi learned that her husband had carried on a brief affair with Vanessa Thompkins. MacNivern consulted Doctor Georgia Beals and a mental block was downloaded to his nanites which took away much of his free will. MacNivern quickly regretted this, but the procedure proved to be irreversible.
