Lisa’s father, Leonard Lipscombe (1948-2018), was a mechanical engineer for McKesson Automation. Her mother, Courtney (Coleman) Lipscombe (1962-2038) was a chemist at PPG Architectural Coverings. The couple had planned to have two children, but after Lisa's birth, they were unable to conceive any further children.  The Lipscombes reportedly catered to all of Lisa's whims and desires, especially after the summer approaching her thirteenth birthday.

Lisa was very popular in both high school and junior high.  She was voted class president three years in a row, and her classmates also voted her "most likely to succeed.  Her parents gave her a new car on her sixteenth birthday, and she was the only junior school administration allowed to drive to school.

During the 2010 holiday season, she returned home from college during the school break and began an affair with a married junior executive from the Westinghouse Corporation.  The affair lasted two years and ultimately ended the man's marriage and his career,

After receiving her doctoral degree, Lisa was hired by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals to conduct research in their vaccine development division in Pearl River, New York where she was allowed an unparalleled degree of autonomy.  She remained in that position until she was hired by the Hoagland Institute in November of 2017 when she resigned abruptly.
