MacDonald had three sons by his first wife, Jennifer Olsen (1936-2020): Eugene (1948-2011) is a former Illinois State Comptroller: Stephen (1950-2032) is a former regional bank manager; and Patrick (1953-1974) who died of a drug overdose while attending the University of Chicago.

Senator MacDonald lavished attention on Amy bringing her everywhere he went. She was ten when he retired from the Senate. She was devastated when he passed away two years later.

Amy was brought aboard the orbital platform early in 2003 and was approved for genetic modification.

Polina married aging trust fund baby, Charles Knight (1955-2029) in 2005 and Amy became involved with his son, Brandon (1985-2061).

A second genetic modification was performed aboard the orbital platform in 2006.

While attending William Fremd High School, Amy was involved with Business Professionals of America; Family, Community and Career Leaders of America; Model United Nations; and the National Honor Society. She was class Valedictorian.

A fourth modification was performed at the end of her junior year in 2009.

She spent six years at Northwestern University studying History as an undergraduate and earning a Juris Doctorate in Law. She then moved to Washington to earn an S.J.D. at George Washington Law School. She passed the Illinois Bar in 2013 which grants her reciprocity in thirty-two other American states and territories.
