Maya grew up outside of Waycross, GA, the fourth and youngest child of Andre Star (1967-2048), a mechanic at the Waycross/Ware County Airport, and Dolly Sampson Star (1968-2075), the owner of a downtown nail salon.
Waycross, GA has a long history of UFO sightings and abductions. Most involved more imagination than fact. However, both of Maya’s parents had been taken and evaluated, although neither has any memory of visiting the orbit platform. Andre was taken in 1973. Dolly in 1984, and then again in 1996. While neither was approved for modification, it was felt they were both worthy of observation. All four of the Star children were evaluated and all were strong candidates but only Maya was approved for modification. The first modification was a small one when she was only four and yielded a H.E.R. of 1.167. The next at age seven brought her to 1.296. A third at age ten showed a H.E.R. of 1.5. When she was thirteen, a fourth modification registered her with a H.E.R. of 2.046. At age sixteen, she reached a H.E.R. of 2.533.
Maya skipped school often and seldom seemed to pay attention yet was a solid B student. After school she worked at her mother’s salon. She dated quite a bit in high school, but never had a steady boyfriend. After high school, she studied criminal science and Coastal Pines Technical College in Waycross. She earned her Associate Degree with a 4.0 average.
When Maya was nineteen, she was taken to the Homestead facility for a sixth genetic modification. She was found to be carrying a fetus, which was removed and sent to Reticuli to be used in the ongoing program there. This modification brought her H.E.R. to 2.917.
After graduation, she was immediately hired by the Augusta Georgia police department. After department training, she was assigned a foot patrol. The neighborhood she patrolled saw a 25% drop in crime in the first six months. However, as she began her third year on the force, allegations began to be heard that she was running her own protection business extorting money from all of the local businesses. If a crime was to be done in her district, it was said that she approved it and assigned who should carry it out. Before an official investigation was launched, she resigned from the force and left the state going to Florida where she was hired by the Hoagland Institute to join the security department.
When Maya was twenty, she was brought to the new facility in Merritt Island where a seventh genetic modification was done. Her recorded H.E.R. was increased to 3.342. Doctor Poe noted that she was a strong candidate for full synthetic insertion.
After leaving the Augusta Police Department, Maya was hired to join the Institute’s security force. She was assigned to Strike Team 1 at an annual salary of $48,000 a year. A final augmentation was performed bringing her H.E.R. to 3.75. Doctor Poe feels this is the highest Maya will be able to score in her carbon based biologic.
