Kendall was the first child born on Luna and one of only twelve children living at Barrett Base in its early years.  She was infected with the DNV while she was in utero.  Her mother, Camila DeGroot, was a physical therapist working for the Hoagland Institute.  Her father, Damain Brown, was allowed to emigrate to Luna with his wife during the relocation and was one of the only un-augmented males given residency on the moon.     

Kendall traveled to Terra to attend college in New York City.  She did extremely well academically but found that she disliked Earth greatly and returned to Barrett Base on Luna immediately upon completion of her degree.
